![]() ![]() In order for a group to start, we need at least 3 participants, which means there may be a delay until we have enough interest. Our groups last for 6-8 weeks, depending on the skills being taught. Groups provide peer support while learning and practicing new skills. Group sessions are an effective and affordable way to address a variety of issues. If you are willing to work for it, I will be here to support you every step of the way! I believe all of my clients have the ability to develop the skills they need to live healthier, happier lives. I believe my role as a therapist is to help guide you through the process as you learn about yourself, develop your strengths, and take time to care for yourself. I enjoy working with many different clients, but I work most often with those who are experiencing anxiety and depression. I am also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington, where I am able to help a new generation of social workers learn and grow. I currently work full-time in Fort Worth ISD helping students who are pregnant or parenting find success as they take on the challenge of finishing school. I have worked in a variety of settings including non-profit organizations, schools, and inpatient facilities. I am a graduate of New Mexico Highlands University, where I earned a masters degree in clinical social work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Texas with seven years of experience. However, I enjoy the challenge of working with all types of clients. My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, major changes in life, and parenting. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral techniques that focus on identifying and improving the negative thinking that sometimes prevents people from moving forward. My approach is based on Solution-Focused techniques that help to work through issues with an end goal in mind while focusing on the strengths my clients already possess. My goal as a counselor is to help you as you face life's challenges by providing a listening ear, kind words of encouragement, and sometimes even a push to get you past difficult obstacles.
